The UAE Equestrian and
Racing Federation Committee on showjumping held its meeting at the federation
premises in Abu Dhabi to discuss the agenda for the forthcoming season and also
to study the achievements during 2003-2004 season.
Presided over
by Hussain Mohammed Hussein, secretary-general of the federation, and was
attended by committee members, Adnan Sultan Al Nuaimi and Sultan Mohammed
Khalifa. Among the decisions
taken included decision to levy a fine of Dh5,000 on any club/organisation,
which decides to cancel showjumping competitions unless they take the permission
of the federation two weeks before the day of the event. The meeting felt that
this would make the show jumping competitions more organised and
systematic.
The committee also
recommended that the showjumping arena at the Emirates Equestrian Club and Jebel
Ali Race Course should be more modernised to make them on par with international
venues
It was further decided
to appoint an official who would be exclusively in charge of the registration of
horses and riders taking part in show jumping championships.
The committee suggested
that the organisations and clubs involved in show jumping activities should hold
more show jumping competitions at the juniors level as they will be the future
senior riders of the country.
Show jumping judge
Khalil Ibrahim will not be able to officiate in any competitions as an
investigation is pending against him.
The panel regretted its
inability to send any UAE jumpers for the sixth World Championship for
Universities scheduled to be held in Tokyo shortly.
The meeting also ruled
that a show jumper from one club can not ride on a horse borrowed from another
club unless he obtains prior permission from the club and also the UAE
Equestrian Federation. |
